5by5 Radio App→

It’s quite obvious from my Recommended page that I’m a big fan of Dan Benjamin’s 5by5 Network of podcasts. On any given work day, I typically have the 5by5 Live Stream running in the background while I bang away in Xcode.

The recently released 5by5 Radio App enhances the live listening experience by providing easy access to the live broadcast schedule and in-app notifications for when shows are going live. During off-air moments, the app streams prior episodes via the “Best of 5by5” feed.

Highly recommended!

CocoaHeads April: Notification vs. Delegation

This past month, we changed the format of our monthly Triangle CocoaHeads meetings. Instead of having a primary presenter speak for an entire hour, we’ve broken it down into three, 30 minute slots covering the following areas: Cocoa Fundamentals, Cocoa Advanced, and Industry Talks/Design Talks/Dev Ops.

As one of the assistant organizers of the group, I figured I should get the ball rolling on this new format, and I offered myself up as the first guinea pig and gave a presentation on Delegation vs. Notification.

My presentation was followed by Using UIManagedDocument by Alondo Brewing and How to Get Your Dream Job by Mike Hay.

Based on the feedback we received after the meeting, it appears the new format was a great success. Looking forward to keeping it going in our May Meetup.

Instacast 2.0 Available→

For my money, there isn’t a better podcast management app available for the App Store. With the release of version 2.0, it gets even better.

Moving to Octopress

Because I can’t leave well enough alone, I’ve decided to migrate my site from Tumblr to Octopress. Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times.

Frames, a new app from Studio Neat

For the past 6 months Tom and I have been working in secret on our new product, our first foray into the software space. It’s been an interesting change of pace from the very public process of using Kickstarter, and we’re so excited to finally show it to the world. It’s called Frames, and it is an iPhone (and iPod Touch) app for creating time-lapse and stop motion movies.

Bought.

I was simply blown away by Bret’s presentation and his approaches to making programming an immediate and interactive experience.
